Having lived in Spring Creek and witnessing the fast paced growth without regard to infrastructure I am not in support of a ski resort in the Ruby Mountains.

We've been getting less snow than we have been, there's no reason for a ski resort if we don't use it.

There is no shortage of ski resorts in the West, but there certainly is a shortage of snow. In the years to come, there is a higher than average probability that many ski resort will be forced to permanently close do to snow drought. Why approve a project that will forever alter the biodiversity and beauty of a wild place for the potential short term profit of one landowner with a questionable business plan that lacks long-term viability? Our natural heritage is lost through 'death by a thousand cuts' which are often inflicted by those who lack foresight.

The Ruby mountains are the reason we moved here, I have a great view from my bed room window. I wake up each morning and open my blinds just to see the beauty that God gave us. I enjoy hiking up there in the summers and snowmobiling in the winter. I love enjoying the nature and wildlife. If this happens then I would not be able to do so. It will harm the wildlife’s habitat and push them to move where we can no longer see them. This will impact our entire community and ruin the beautiful views that we all build our houses to see.

Me and my family moved up here to get away from the big city areas. I feel and probably a lot of other people agree that if we get a ski resort it will just get bigger and we will become a big city.

The rubies are my home. They should be left in the beautiful natural way they are for everyone to see not just the rich yuppies who come and ruin any perfect rural environment for their own selfish gain. Elko is for everyone not just the rich.

I have grown up in elko since I was young. I grew up right in front of the face of the mountain. If you asked anyone who lived in spring creek, or even elko if they have a picture of that mountain I guarantee that every person you ask has one. We love our mountain, and not only that, we love what it has to offer. The wildlife, the motivation you get when you look at it, to just explore and see what mysteries are within it. And so, so much more. Don’t ruin our mountain. Don’t let one person with some money ruin what so many have to offer for it.
