Save jobs and keep the community safe. Who wants to transport inmates to Mojave and Bakersfield all the time. Keep the officers safe by not having them travel those highways

Twice my son has been arrested and found to be innocent and released from Bakersfield jail At midnight. That alone should be illegal. It took me two hours to get him off the streets. That is so dangerous and they don't even give them their money back that they had with them. They give them a check which cannot be cashed in the middle of they might. We need a jail here to keep people in for a few days while the DA is trying to decide if he really wants to punish this person that might be innocent. The way it is in Ridgecrest you are definitely guilty until proved innocent. We need changes around here and we definitely need our own jail!!!!!

The rural cities should not suffer more crime because not everything has to be in Bakersfield. It is a pain for all of us other people to get there as it is.

Closing the jail facility in Ridgecrest may be penny wise, but it is pound foolish. Please keep the facility open.

Without a jail our police officers will do more cite and releases. This giving criminals more power to commit more crimes. Criminals will then have the mentality that their will be little to no consequence for their actions other than a piece of paper that states they have to appear in court. This allows them to continue their bad behavior. Closing the jail will make law biding citizens exercise their 2nd amendment rights more. I for one will arm my house more forcefully knowing that the police can't take criminals off the street as easily since their will be no jail. You Sherriff Youngblood are out of your mind for even considering this as an option. Are you Sherriff Youngblood benefiting from this closure financially? Are your bonuses higher? Clearly, you are doing this for your own personal gain! 2nd amendment rights! Congrats you just caused all of Ridgecrest to be armed so we can protect ourselves since you won't let the police have adequate tools to do their jobs.

It's imparative that this jail remain open! Crime is on the rise. It will certainly rise even more after its closing. I grew up in this town and my mother still lives there. I fear her safety will be at risk!

There is so much money wasted on transporting prisoners now. Back and forth for court appearances. This would be more trips for officers taken away from their duties.

Please reconsider the closing of the jail site in Ridgecrest, CA. We have crimes going overboard here and it would behoove you to keep the jail open.

I encourage all law obeying citizens to obtain a fire arm if our jail closes (the criminals already have them)!

The closure of the jail will jeopardize the safety of this town by taking our officers out of town. A waste of our city taxes! Appalling!!
