Please keep our jail open. Keep the criminals off our streets. We need our police to help protect us not driving criminals elsewhere.

Closing the Ridgecrest jail will pull law enforcement out of the area to transport prisoners to other jails thus leaving my community at risk. Just another service the county seat is taking from Ridgecrest - the Step Child of Kern County

How are police officers going to protect and serve when they're spending more time transporting prisoners? Is it also true that we will also be losing the narcotic unit? I can't imagine doing anything worse to Ridgecrest than this!

Don't waste our officer's time making them drive all the way to Bakersfield. We NEED them on our streets, protecting us!!!!!!!

With the large number of parolees here and increased petty crimes, we do not need to loose our police officers to be taxi drivers. How will closing our jail save money when you have added costs like fuel, overtime, and possible loss of life? Please view other options!

You will have less resources available to fight crime in Ridgecrest if the Ridgecrest officers are spending hours away transporting prisoners to Bakersfield.

Please, please, please keep our local jail open. There's enough 'garbage' floating the streets as it is now. The last thing this town needs is an invite for more to come here because there isn't enough man power or a jail to lock them up.
