The time and money wasted on transporting people back and forth to Bakersfield is stupid! The man power needs to stay in town to protect and serve the community!

The men and woman of our police department love our community and take pride in keeping trash off of the streets. The jail needs to stay open so they can continue fighting crime, instead of playing taxi driver.

We need officer's on streets and available for class, not transporting inmates to Bakersfield. Plus it will cost money for fuel, wear and tear on vehicles and most important moral of citizens/officers in Ridgecrest. Additionally, it will cost Ridgecrest thousands to transport and pay jail costs for another city. Leave our jail open!

The Ridgecrest jail has been open for several years and has continued to serve the law-abiding public by detaining those who need to use it. Our officers don't need to be transporting them elsewhere.

When law enforcement is removed, crime will increase. Ridgecrest, having received transplants from Bakersfield and Los Angeles areas, needs local law enforcement to protect it's citize
ns. Crime has been up in the area even with law there. It most likely will become exponentially worse.

If they close it then there will be more crimes and drug use cuz the RCPD are not going to want to drive a 4 hour round trip to take them to Bakersfield or even to Mohave which is an hour away and then who is gonna pay the gas so then they will just do Realise to everyone..
