If William "Lone Star" Dietz accepted the team to originally be changed to Rednecks and it being done in honor of him than why should Americans that have not done any research on the history of team and term redneck make a fuss. I am Native American an support any and all team names that imply the Native American.

Do not change for any reason; it is time to oppose political correctness on all levels.

This PC stuff is getting out of hand. The Redskins have been our rivals for decades but always worthy adversaries. I'm frankly disgusted that this has gotten this far

I'm a lifelong New England Patriots fan who has just decided to adopt the Redskins as my NFC team of choice. I hate political correctness and the oppressive environment it creates.

KEEP THE NAME. It wasn't meant to be offensive and to 90%+, it is not. The owner of the team is the only person who should decide whether to change it or not without interference from Gov't and especially opinionated media who is supposed to REPORT the news not make it

The team name is offensive. WASHINGTON is VERY offensive to most Americans. "Redskins" is fine. Washington is offensive (sorry George) because it has become synonymous with ineffectiveness, lying, back-stabbing, and corruption. It's interesting how Redskin wasn't offensive before social media. And quite frankly, Crimson Tide is way more offensive to me. Its disgusting! I want Alabama to change its name. And Notre Dame. As a person of Irish decent, Fighting Irish is offensive to me. CHANGE IT. Regis Philbin, you must be a racist. Dolphins, you guessed it, offensive to animal goobers. Giants, offensive to vertically challenged individuals. Titans, see "giants". Vikings, people of Nordic decent. And what about the Browns? Now I know the ORIGINAL Browns were named after founder Paul Brown, but do all people of color know that? Change it! And that is just football. And comparing Dan Snyder to Donald Sterling is weak and just goes to show how lame this whole thing is. I am Native American. Love the Redskins. Keep the name.

The Redskins name is never meant to disparage anyone. It's open to interpretation and therefore should be allowed to continue being used to identify the Washington football team.

Keep the name. We are being overly sensitive about this. Native Americans love the name. Let's not start this path down a slippery slope. The name is part of a tradition and history in the NFL

Absolutely ridiculous. Stop with the whining and complaining about racial slurs. It hasn't hurt no one's feelings that truly matter anyways. Bunch of cry babies with man-gina's! Grow a pair and worry about stuff that actually matters in society.

Redskins name is a tradition and I hope Dan Snyder has the balls to stick to the tradition he so highly speaks of :)
