Agree whole heartedly with the petitions assertions. It is critical that the County understand, quantify, and implement plans for school capital projects that realistically account for the material impact of major developments like West-bard will have on our schools.

I am deeply concerned by the proposed delays for Pyle and Whitman. Overcrowding at these schools is beyond acceptable. Please go back to the drawing board and find a way to keep us on schedule.

I'm a Whitman student. In many of my classes, the students outnumber the seats. We need more space.

There are few issues more essential for our future success – as individuals, as families, and as a nation — than investing in a quality education for every child.
Regrettably, our County has fallen behind in support of one of its most valued assets: its public schools. As you know, too many MCPS schools are over enrolled and our children go to school each day in over-utilized and aging facilities. As a parent and voter, full funding of CIP Budget as submitted by MCPS is my top issue in upcoming county elections.
I am the parent of children in the Walt Whitman Cluster of schools, and I am deeply concerned about our inadequate school facilities. I am also concerned that without funding current planned additions to our schools, the upcoming development in the Westbard Sector will create an unprecedented level of overcrowding in our community.

if you are going to let tear downs co tu ur unabated as well as allow for two massive residential developments then you must address infrastructure. It actually probably time for three new schools down county. 900 kids at an elementary school and 3000 at a high school is just too big. Kids are getting lost. It's enough. Consider smart planning and also that people move here for the schools!! Do what's right esp when the economy is strong and taxes are up.

Any delay in the school improvements is inexcusable for a county which is one of the most prosperous in the country. I believe that the Westbard plan is a disaster and it's impact on the schools will be tragic. Let us not sell our children short. Education in an environment that stimulates learning is vital

As a taxpaying, voting member of this community with elementary school aged children it frightens me to think what will be in store for them at Whitman if capacity projects are not continued. I secondly, deeply, disapprove of projects like the Westbard plan that does not take into account infrastructure issues. Moving forward with projects like this while simultaneously placing capacity projects on the back burner is such a slap in the face to your current residents.
Please continue to study and evaluate capacity issues for our cluster. It is such a disservice to children to be learning in overcrowd conditions.
