The Playhouse has fought off and risen above many challenges over its history. There are so few theatres rooted in their community, come on Bradford, rally behind this cause. Reject any possibility of change of use.

We're losing to many places like this across the country, once they are gone, they are gone. Leave it as it is!

It is vital to our culture that venues like the Playhouse remain open for the communities that they serve.

J.B. Priestley said it better than I can ... "These theatres are very small and have to fight for their very existence, but … I see them as little camp-fires twinkling in a great darkness. Readers … may possibly not care twopence if every playhouse in the country should close tomorrow. The point is that in communities that have suffered the most from industrial depression, among younger people who frequently cannot see what is to become of their jobs and their lives, these theatres have opened little windows into a world of ideas, colour, fine movement, exquisite drama, have kept going a stir of thought and imagination for actors, helpers, audiences, have acted as outposts for the army of the citizens of tomorrow, demanding to live."

A community asset to Bradford. Must be saved as there's nothing quite like it in the city.

Bradford needs this cultural resource - where else in the city can local artists and performers come to share and hone their craft? Where else can local groups put on performances and people of Bradford comet together to enjoy what the people of Bradford produce?
