The Building that we currently occupy being sold at auction at the beginning of July we are asking the Bradford Council to publicly say it will reject any applications for change of use. Lets ensure that the Playhouse remains an asset to the Community of Bradford.
There are plenty of empty buildings in & around Bradford that can be converted in restaurants, apartments etc. Let's keep this theatre and arts space functioning as such.

At a time when Bradford is emerging from the shadows of 50 years of decline, multiple recessions and repeated Govermental neglect we need to preserve as much heritage as we can. Allowing a change of use would cut the thread to JB priestley, Billy Whitelaw, and all those whose talent started to shine there. Please choose to respec the past and look to the future.

I love this place. It is a centre for community arts that helps arty people connect even if they don't have much money. I have been an audience member and a performer there many times. It is a beautiful place and one of the happiest places I can think of.

The Playhouse is an excellent venue, both from the point of view of putting on shows and watching them. It provides community theatre groups with a proper venue at an afforable price, increasing the opportunity for the arts in Bradford. The building is quirky and it would be a shame for its purpose and history to be lost.

The Playhouse has fought off and risen above many challenges over its history. There are so few theatres rooted in their community, come on Bradford, rally behind this cause. Reject any possibility of change of use.
