Keep the Old Canal Way Traffic Light - Weatogue, CT

A potential broadside accident is a potential fatality. KEEP THIS LIGHT!!

As a resident of Canal Place apartments I am concerned that removal of this traffic signal will be dangerous. Leaving Old Canal Way in either direction is a blind corner and removal of this traffic signal is a broadside collision waiting to happen.

We absolutely need this light! The speed limit on Hopmeadow is far too high coming from Simsbury center to remove it.

We need this traffic light to stay! It will be dangerous for the residents of Old Canal Way, as well as school buses , to attempt to pull out onto Hopmeadow Strret. Traffic moves at a high rate of speed and visibility from Old Canal Way looking to the left is low due to the curve. This light is a necessity!!

I live on Old Canal Way. People drive way to fast on Hopmeadow, and you really cant see to the left or right when leaving Old Canal because of the curves. Seems like a no-brainer to leave that light there. It would be too dangerous without it.

This is a dangerous intersection. Any new development should have an additlight without removing the safety provided by existing traffic lights.

Keep the light at Old Canal Way.

It seems ridiculous to remove this light. Such a dangerous spot and it’s been there for so long - recipe for disaster. After a couple bad accidents they would have to put it back up. Just keep it. 71 Old Meadow Plain Rd

Definitely need to keep light. Isn’t the property on the other side of the light from the townhomes and houses going to be developed. Seems like if they remove light now it will only be put back when that is done

Removing the light on Old Canal Way will cause a backup on Deer Park and Sand Hill in the mornings, and make it absolutely impossible to turn left onto Old Canal Way in the afternoon rush hour.

I regularly go in and out of this complex. Somebody will end up dead if they remove this light. There's a curve and and limited visibility in both directions.

I am in this complex several times a month, even with the light sometimes it's a bit unnerving when people blow through the red light. Would hate to think what it would be like with no light at all. An accident waiting to happen.

Yes, we definitely need to stop the removal of this traffic light. There have been many weekday mornings, when the light is not working, in which it's impossible to take a left onto Hopmeadow due to the high volume of commuter traffic. That and cars are driving too fast around the curve that I'm nervous to turn without getting into an accident.

Removing traffic light will result in accidents and eventual law suits. 15 Jodi Lane.
