I graduated from Walker. My brothers should be able to do the same. I many hours into the name Walker High School. Won many awards in the band as Walker High School. Wore Walker on my sleeve at the football games. Just because I'm the last graduating class of the old building should not mean I'm the last graduating class of Walker High School.

My parents and grandparents graduated from WALKER High School. Plus, could you imagine having to replace all the uniforms to say Jasper and all the Juniors and Seniors who have to get their rings replaced to say Jasper? That's a lot of money that would be wasted for no reason

The name change affects more than just the name on the school...it is the name the students have made for the school. They are the WALKER VIKINGS and that is from the heart. I sit in the stands and hear the students and the band....they have alot of spirit and have put alot into thier school. Hard work and money. The band just got uniforms and the band truck...the kids are the ones that worked for that ..

Im a senior at walker now, I understand why y'all want to change the name. But I also believe us as students should have a say so in what we are called. It may not change til after I graduate but I'm speaking for a the younger grades. We are the ones that it affects the most. What is it going to do with y'all? Nothing. Y'all get to claim it. We don't mind about that, we want what we know as our school which is Walker. There's no point in changing it. It's going to be harder changing it than keeping it the same. I am also apart of the band. We have new uniforms and a band truck. We worked hard for that, and y'all are going to trash all that work to change the name. Where's our say so? It's our school!
