I think changing the name of this school is wrong. You can not erase history. Changing the name of this school will not change slavery that happen 150 years ago. Many of the generals became presidents, Vice-Presidents and members of congress. This political correctness has gone to far. Stop the madness.

Please keep it the same name. I went to Charleston High School but Stonewall was a big part of our high school experience.

This is crazy Keep the name it celebrates a native West Virginian. I assume we now must remove Robert Byrd's name from everything in the state because he was actually a member of the KKK. What about George Washington High School named after a slave owner. I guess Washing Street and Lee Street will have to be renamed. Don't for Jefferson County. Will this craziness ever stop?

I am a 1968 graduate of SJHS and it makes me sick to think that some moron has the unmitigated gall to even suggest that the school's name should be changed. I am so sick of the political correctness in this country and the gutless people who refuse to take a stand on any issue. Well, I'm one who isn't a pushover.

I don't understand why officials rush to destroy history.
