It would be useful if parents would be consulted when making plans for the music department.

There is not enough space in the music block as it is so if they want to build a gym build it on to the sports block.

Music and fitness are both important, but to sacrifice a space that can benefit the whole school in order to provide facilities that only the sixth form can use sounds like a poor use of resources.
I hope adequate provision of practice rooms and rehearsal spaces will be provided elsewhere if this does go ahead.

My sister loves her school and the Music Department. She will be very sad to see the space becomes smaller. Please keep the music block as it is.

Please keep the Music block the same size as it is now. So many of us use it every morning. I do my music practice there; it is like a second home.

Music is such a strong part of the school and is enjoyed by so many of the girls. Please don’t dilute this fantastic asset.

Music has always been at the heart of OHS and all its girls. In a very musical town, such as Oxford, the Music Departement pf OHS stands out on its own. Many of us chose this great school, not just because its academic level, but also because its musical strenght.

I would appreciate at least the communication from the school prior to any major changes or decision that would affect learning in any subject. Please keep this important facility.

Music is central to the life of the school in a way that an extra mini gym would not be. Please keep the music block! And why are we only hearing about this now?

The idea to replace the only available music room by a gym without shower facilities seems ill thought-out.

Please keep the music room - I'm not sure how much a small gym would be useful for the 6th form

The music block would serve many more pupils than a limited number of sixth form students using a gym

Where was the consultation? Are the music facilities moving - if so where? Is it bigger, better, worse, the same? What will be the advantages of the new gym?

With an extra building for Sixth Formers, why do we need to deplete the music department of facilities. Why have the parents not been consulted at all about this? Please revisit this decision made under a previous autocratic administration.

Music for a gym? Seriously I used to run a ‘green’ gym the upshot being all you need to keep fit is outside in your local environment, you can’t practice your drums in the local woods. gyms are such a bad use of the worlds energy resources, please rethink, the girls just need help to feel
Empowered in their fitness not trying to compete with other schools in glossy gyms x
