I have ancestors that fought in this second war of American independence and we have a right to exist. My culture and heritage has that right, evil cannot prevail.

Let it be a place of teaching, a place where , by it's very prominent location, this present generation can understand how a previous generation sought to remember the commitment and conviction of thousands of their families, for good or ill. Let it be a tool to teach, and let the very prominent location where it stands serve as a reminder to all that history still speaks to us today, for good or ill. It is what we choose to make of it.

Leave our monuments to our beloved family members alone. Many were not able to come home so this is how our families remember and honor them. Please know that northern soilders and familes honored our fallen soilders by contributing to some mouments for them because they respected them for what they went through.
