Change is OK but let's not change so much that we lose the historical identity of our community

Native Americans are some of the most resilient people groups that have ever walked the face of the earth. They built entire civilizations out of nothing and learned to not only survive but thrive in the elements. They are an essential part of the story of America!! Their storied must be told the good, the bad and the ugly! Yet they are with us to this day many of whom partake in the many blessings of our great republic and play a major role in the fabric of American life! To say it would be an honor to be represented by them would be a great understatement!

The word indian for me depicts bravery and courage...it reminds me that the true Americans are of American Indian ancestry.

The name is not derogatory nor is any offensive or insensitive imagery used and a tribe is a universal term.

I am and forever will be an Indianola Indian along with my 3 older siblings! I am proud of where I have grown up and gone to school it has made me who I am today. Trying to change it is just wrong. One tribe.

Indianola is my home town. It would be ashamed to remove our history. It's bad enough that the courthouse is gone.

We are showing respect and strength by using the name “Indians”, our town was named Indianola, should we change that too!!!!!! Don’t we have enough right now to worry about instead of this ridiculous crap! If we don’t get these kids back to school we might not have to worry about it!!

Keep the Indians, there was nothing wrong with the name for years now all of a sudden. I don't get it, people nowadays would protest a protest!
