access to these facilities for longer hours means better work which gives us better skills to take into better jobs. Also makes the course EVEN more appealing than it already is!

Keeping the FMM open would greatly benefit a number of people as they do not have efficient hardware or software continue working at home

The FMM building is a life saver. There are many students with computers which are not powerful enough nor have the required software on. Some students are having to work on laptops back at home, which isn't suitable in the least for the software required.

Keeping the FMM building open for longer will drastically improve the quality of work from everybody, since there are a lot of collaborate projects, we all need to be with our groups working together in a place where we have access to the software we require and powerful enough computers. The increase in quality work will also make the university as a whole look a lot better.

Definately needs to stay open, some people can only work in the FMM building so lose out on some serious work. Others (myself included) find they work much better an faster in the FMM building as i'ts more social for team-work based projects. We need it open 24/7! The quality of everyones work will just go up!

Forced to work on my own in my room constantly as the computers in the library aren't powerful enough and don't let me using my drawing tablet. Starting to feel isolated and I feel it's affecting my work too. If we had access to the FMM building I could work with my classmates in the evenings, collaborate with others and socialise with other years as well.

-The FMM' computers are powerful, whilst mine is not. Also not all software is available outside of the university.

Last year's final major project deadline was absolutely hellish; the render farm wasn't working and the building was shut the weekend before the hand in. Several groups didn't manage to render out all of their project because of this restriction and grades suffered. In order for us to do the best work we can with legal software the FMM really does need to remain open, at the very least around major deadlines.

Working within the FMM building allows for more productivity because it simulates a more realistic working environment. It allows for more collaboration and motivation which results into better work from the students. This simply cannot be had in the LRC because 1: The computers do not have the licenses for the software we require. 2: The computers aren't powerful enough to run the software.

Having the FMM building open for full access, when we need it. Will enable us to be more productive with our time, as we tend to get more work done in class with the computers and softwares available to us. Some students cannot afford to build a powerfull PC which usually costs more than £1000, excluding softwares. Universities I have friends who have been to or are going to such as University of Suffolk and Teeside university are only a few universities with a game course which has their labs available with full access 24/7. Only our university closes at 10, and LRC computers if we are to work their. We would request one part of the LRC or all computers to be upgraded. Student historys and files saved on system to be deleted after each logging off. As it slows down the computers a lot, with full software accessability including Quixel, Substance, UE4, and many other softwares.
