I remember fishing with my dad there as a girl. It is a part of our town.

This is disgusting. Seaside towns and fishing is a tradition, leave it alone

I don't sea fish but enjoyed watching the anglers on the pier and most would chat and explain their methods to me a course angler.

Whilst i appreciate that investment in this pier may be needed and indeed welcomed please remember, respect and embrace 150 years of tradition and values of the local fishing community.

This man needs to get a grip, stick always to tradition a pier holds and the job opportunities it creates.

Typical another foreign take over, wants to change things that have been in place for years. Hopefully the new owner and the local council and residence can sit down and talk. Long live fishing on Eastbourne Pier.

Altough not a fisherman myself it's always been a habit to walk round the pier and stop to watch the fishing for a brief time . That for me is a fond memory but for others it's a sport , a hobby even a way of life that us who do not fish will probably never understand . Surely a compromise can be achieved as fisherman on the end of the pier is a landmark on a landmark ! Best of luck all !

Piers are a great places for children to fish from particularly during the summer holidays.

My first experience of fishing was on Eastbourne pier over 45 years ago, I would hope that every youngster would have the same opportunities as I had as a child , to start a pastime that has given me untold pleasures for the vast part of my life. Stopping the fishing will deprive youngsters of this .

If you get rid of everything the pier used to stand for and start charging people to walk on it, no one will visit and it'll likely be less profitable than it was in the first place
