My dad used to fish off the end of the pier over 60 years ago and at one time there were regular angling competitions along the entire length of the pier, the prizes were given out in the ballroom at the end of the weekend.

Why buy a pier that has some of the best fishing in Sussex and then try banning it?
Great place to fish used by many locals for a long time, it's part of the pier and its history! ... maybe the "sheik" should remember it's a pier in Eastbourne not a money pot!
Yet again something "British" owned by a foreigner after a cash cow !

Sheikh Abid Gulza, listen to what local people want and make provision for angling a least on one side at end of pier.

Piers are easy fishing for all including the elderly and youngsters that would otherwise be spending too long on a games console or behind a screen or even worse breaking the law. Please think beyond pound notes.

Again some outsider with nothing but profit in mind decides locals and their traditions are not worth a second thought.

I am sure there is space for this, there are lots of people that enjoy watching and talking to the fishermen. But i do wonder if they are wanting the space for the boat trips that they are talking about?? Hopefully the new owner can accommodate both?

Let the fishermen fish off the pier or many will boycott the pier in response.
