Yet another sad day for the history of our pier if this was to happen. I have to say not a day goes by just lately that I don't hear news that something is going to change (for the worse) in regards to OUR pier!! I truly hope he takes on board the residents of Eastbourne's wishes AS PROMISED, and not turn it into some money making franchise!!

There has been fishing on the end of the pier for as long as I can remember. There is no harm in keeping it, but a lot of harm to the Sheik's reputation will befall if he stops it. It is part of out heritage... already changing what has been going for years will not do the new owner any good at all. People come to Eastbourne to stay in the Hotels (one of them his) and then fish off the pier.... you will be so unpopular :(

You want youngsters to stop sitting in front of the tv and playing computer games and fishing is a great way to do that! But how you going to get them out fishing if there is no where to go or if they have to travel miles to get to somewhere to fish ?

What would be gained stopping fisherman use this facility? Why are you taking away a harmless leisure activity for so many people and an income for the tackle shop?
