we need to keep the fishing on the pier, Mr aghili does so much for the youth of eastbourne and it would be a damn shame if he had to close. Please re consider your decision as we need to keep this there for the kids of Eastbourne.

Fishing from the end of the pier is part of our towns heritage ,and it is disgusting that this tradition is even open to discussion

Fishing on Eastbourne Pier is part of it's history. I am all for the renovation as long as it keeps the pier traditions in place.

For tradition, tourists and keeping us fit and out safely in the fresh air, this must be kept.

For goodness' sake, where else is there such a great spot for fishing? Where could the sheikh suggest they go,that would be even remotely as good? It's safe at the end of the pier, and doesn't endanger people on the beach.

Traditions such as these should not be allowed to lapse.

Why get rid of someone's lively hood, place of work, passion in life and what they have spent a lot of money on? It's a great place to have a shop!

Years of pleasure will be lost if fishing is stopped. How many fathers have taken their sons and daughter onto the pier and taught them how to fish in safety. Ahuge loss if this is taken away.

I 've never been to Eastbourne but when I'm on holiday fishing a pier is something the whole family takes part in, and I'd like to fish off this pier soon!

Please don't get rid of the fishing shop and platforms. I have spent wonderful hours over many years fishing off the end. It is part of our heritage and it would be a sacrilege to stop it and prevent future generations and tourists from enjoying the same pleasure.
