I agree that the fishing folk should be allowed to continue with their traditional Pier fishing. Also I would guess that our beaches and shoreline will become more crowded with fishermen and women if they are 'turfed off' the pier.

Please save the fishing on the pier, as to stop would mean taking rest bite away from people who work hard to savour a couple of hours downtime from lifes stresses, not to mention keeping a new generations away from various crimes that blight the community.

Traditions are always a good thing. Fishing is a healthy outdoor pastime for young and old alike. Don't allow it to be banned from old stomping grounds.

Keep it open for fishing, we need this pier, there are only 2 piers on East Sussex coast (Eastbourne and Hastings) where you can fish.

Getting rid of fishing is a 100% wrong thing us from eastbourne use it holiday makers use it old and young use it. So if it gose we all go and will not use the pier ever again

There are not many piers left. You can't have a pier without this traditional fishing activity.

I first started fishing from Eastbourne Pier in 1964. It was where every school boy with an interest in the sport started their sea fishing adventures. It also acted as a school of fishing where boys like me could ask the advice from more the more senior anglers who fished the top deck (two decks in those days). I think it would be a shame to end such an activity from this pier as it has always added colour and a historic importance to the pier and Eastbourne itself.
