why close it ? its a fishing landmark that surly brings in money ? clearly the new owner has no buisness experience , but then again if he does have buisness background then he's no good at it and should take up knitting !

I learnt to fish on South Parade Pier as a kid so piers are easy fishing for youngsters to learn, no piers for me to teach my grand daughter locally so I'm teaching her coarse fishing.

This man has no moral right to do this. As well as the loss of recreational facility, there would be a community loss generally, and especially also a loss to local RNLI fund-raising.

Surely encouraging people to fish is a far more positive move rather than closing down a much valued outlet that has served people for many years. Wake up!! Too many traditions are being eroded!!

Eastbourne is widely known for its pier fishing. I learned to fish there with my father before the war. Please keep it goiong.

Stop this back door erosion of one of the most traditional seaside activities. It costs local jobs and local income.

this is one of my very favourite winter venues, and I regularly drive from the North West of England to fish here, it's also a wonderful place to introduce both young and old to our fantastic sport of Angling!

I have grow up in Eastbourne and fishing on the pier has always been available to the local community over those fifty odd years. It engages families, all age/impairment groups and tourists. Fishing on the Pier must continue.
