Fishing has taken place on the pier for 150 years, it's as much a part of the pier, as pier is part of Eastbourne. If the new owner takes away the fishing, he will take away the only thing that quite a few people live for

It would be a huge loss for the Eastbourne community and charitable organisation's as it is the local angling comps that raise vital funds to worthy causes

I see in the Independent that the new owner says ''The fishing club may have to go, as he wants to rebuild the jetty and run pleasure boats to Brighton.'' Well that's seasonal at best. Why the hell ruin a pastime enjoyed on this pier for decades. Shame on you Sheikh Abid Gulza this is not supporting local people for what is a positive activity for all ages. This pier would be in better hands if the council took it on and got grants and support from elsewhere to rebuild. Take Southwold pier as an excellent example. Piers in private hands don't work. Don't ban fishing on Eastbourne pier support local people!

To manny angling marks are being lost. Angling is good for all age groups and piers are a safe place for young and old to enjoy their sport .

Keep it open. It's a great place for young kids to start fishing. And safe.
