This petition is to ask the Mansfield City Council to keep the public parklette outside of Dirty Job Brewing in place and open to the public. The City Coucil voted to remove all parklettes downtown. Many businesses spent thousands of dollars to build and maintain the parklette at 117 N Main St and the public has enjoyed using the space for lounging, resting mid-shopping, picture opportunities, meeting space, and much more since it was put in place in October of 2020.

We are asking you to show your support for this great project and fixture so it may be used for at least another year. This petition is only for the parklette pictured as the builders of the one at 126 N. Main are voluntarily removing it.

I have been reading through your stories about how you use this space and I am honestly overwhelmed by how much this little spot means to our community. I am still trying to figure out the best way to present all this feedback to the council, but please know that this momentum belongs entirely to the people who use the parklette every day.

I am honestly stunned to see so many people backing this little parklette, and I really owe all this momentum to the local community. If you could send this link to a few people today, we might actually hit that first milestone sooner than I ever imagined.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people care about this space. If we can reach the two hundred and fifty mark today it will show the council exactly how much this parklette belongs to the community.

This is a nice addition to be able to enjoy a drink outside on a nice day. It beats having a crowd of people on the sidewalk so others cant walk past

Keep them please, makes easier to bring children, after church, since they were up we are now spending more money locally, fly squirrel is a daily stop, and a sit.

The parklettes are a nice place to sit outside while shopping downtown. There is plenty of parking in the lots behind Main so the two spaces taken by the parklette are not negatively affecting parking downtown.

Aside from being a great driver for business, the parklette offers an outdoor entertainment area which is lacking from the Historic Downtown district. With limited outdoor space for businesses in this area you should be adding to, not taking away these types of areas.

We need more places for people to congregate, not fewer. The parklet at 117 is attractive, safe, taller than cars (so easily seen), and USED. Those concerned about safety need to visit illegal U-turns and excessive speed for a complete picture of pedestrian safety. In the meantime, the two parking spaces taken by this parklet do not have a negative effect Downtown. Please renew the permit.

Council rolled out the carpet to DJB, certainly not with a promise of success but with strong signals that it wanted businesses in Downtown where people could gather, especially at night. Now that DJB is overflowing on some nights, this is not the time to penalize this business for their hard work and commitment to revitalizing Downtown.

Why would y'all remove them now? Are you trying to make this town uglier than it already is with all of these strip malls and overpriced "luxury" apartments?
