This is such a special little public art space that many members of the community have contributed to in one way or another. Hillcrest is such a unique neighbourhood and this is part of that!

This is such a unique and magical place!! I feel like the cardboard ghouls and schools of fish are our neighbourhood guardians <3 and so many of the hillcrest youth have contributed their creative charms.

The Dalton Trail Gallery is a staple of hillcrest life. It exists on such a small footprint of the trail, that I don’t see how it can “distract from the natural beauty”, this isn’t the nicest portion of the trail either!! Please let the Dalton Trail Gallery live!

S.10 of the bylaw allows the City to authorize a use that is otherwise prohibited in this zone. I’d suggest undertaking consultation and issuing a permit with conditions that takes reasonable steps to accommodate the complaint’s concerns. It’s been a while since I’ve walked by the art display but like most I and struggling to understand the concern.

I'm a Whitehorse resident and I love this art gallery! Let's celebrate and support art that is neighbourhood-based, available for free 24/7, and adds surprise and whimsy to the lives of newcomers!

I have lived in Hillcrest for over 20 years and can attest to the value that the Dalton Trail Trail Gallery has brought to our neighborhood and greenspace. This is not a 'wild' area this not disturbing the wilderness feel of the area as it's part of a human impacted landscape behind the houses on Dalton Trail. Children and adults of all ages can enjoy the art and different perspectives provided in the gallery, and even contribute to it. It's a source of conversation and neighbourhood focus. It would be a shame to lose it because one or a few people have complained about this community art space

Community art is sacred culture, the city needs to back off and let people take ownership of their common spaces.
