Please keep the Columbus statue, remove the Indian heads, erect a monument next to Columbus to honor Native Americans and put the Indian heads on that monument.

This is a historic piece of art. The city should sell Columbus circle to the Knights of Columbus for $1.00. Then they should make it forever wild. They wouldn't have to pay any taxes on the land. The Cherokee Indians owned Black slaves. The many tribes of the Iroquois nation fought with the French against the Americans during the French and Indian war. I'm sorry people are offended. Too bad, grow up, its history.

They have contributed much to our city
and Onondaga Co. The statue should remain in front of the cathedral in their honor.

That statue has stood in its place all my Life and my mother’s and my grandparents told me of when it was brought here and the stories and the History ILearned growing up in School was not Bad and Did not make me Turn out to be a bad person But all this conflict of History Changing they are doing these Days are causing wars and conflicts among people that once got along all because of the stuff they are now feeding them

The Columbus statue is considered a Historical monument and needs to be preserved. The Preservation Board needs to make a stand and take action.
Why can’t there be a plaque explaining the good of Columbus , the man. Being a navigator, explorer....
Around the circle could also be placed plaques representing the 23 different people’s / cultures that make up the Syracuse community. Then add one more for the future for those who are yet to come.
If people feel a need to change the name . A suggestion. Syracuse Community Circle.
