Why Do they continue to try to rewrite history. When the cancel culture gets done, Kids will have no idea where they came from. I`ll support anyone but a Walsh

One could argue the point that Ben Walsh is here because Columbus opened up the Western Hemisphere. Everyone in the community, including the President (Roosevelt in 1934) and representatives of the Onondaga Nation, was on board ENTHUSIASTICALLY at the statue's dedication.

Save the artwork, is 1st priority! If they wish it removed from its location that's OK. BUT save the artwork, perhaps place it in the Everson museum or relocate it to another suitable public site. Now its replacement, perhaps a Viking statue of say Leif Erickson, he actually discovered America in 1,000 C.E.

Let's learn from our history and not try to erase it! Leave the Christopher Columbus statue in its rightful position in downtown Syracuse!
