Don't tear down the Columbus statue, tear down the light on Tippery Hill instead. Let's see how you like it.

There is no honest reason to cancel Christopher Columbus.

If they make the wrong decision to remove, I would like to have it to install on my property and display it for every one to see it every day.

The statue is just standing there...for decades,I might add...hasn’t caused any problems...now some RADICALS create a negative narrative and we’re supposed to all agree with their opinions??? I say if you don’t like it...stay away and don’t look at it !!! It’s a part of history and shouldn’t be erased!!! Please go back under your rock with your closed minds...it’s dark there and you won’t have to look at anything you deem to be distasteful there...Sorry...not sorry!

It’s a disgrace that we have to erase history, good or bad, it happened.

We have to learn from history so we don't repeat it. And see where we can change to be a better world. Not Bitter!!!.

If we remove our history then what is there to prove it existed? We need to learn from, not erase.

Christopher Columbus was an amazing person and deserves to be honored and celebrated. He is also a hero to Italian-Americans. Taking the statue away would be telling the Italian-American community that our culture does not matter and our voice does not matter.

Keep the monument ! Don’t submit to the mob. I have a lot of memories of that area of Syracuse and looking up at that statue in awe .

As an Italian American my heritage means a lot to me and the pioneers who came before me. Italian Americans are hardworking, loyal and passionate people. This statue is a symbol of that pathway to a better life and a reminder that anything is possible through hard work and a dream.

Please keep it up. That fountain is beautiful and the statue is also. I have fond memories of feeding the pigeons with all three of my kids. They had fun throwing popped pop corn. Then the pigeons acted happy when we fed them. We used to talk about the statue and what this man did.
