Keep the monument. It is part of out history. Stop trying to erase aspects of our history that offend some. When you do, you're left with a very subjective narrative of what has happened in the past.

I’m in favor of an accompanying plaque with accurate information portraying the viewpoint of the indigenous people of the areas explored and subsequently settled by Europeans, not for trying to erase the inarguable historic fact that Columbus was a European explorer who did accomplish significant voyages of discovery. One may argue for or against his motives and those of the monarchs who sent him but we should not be so lopsided in trying to erase the significance that he played in global history. Educate with a full scope of information and let those receiving the information firm their own opinions.

Some people will always find something to take offense with. Remove this to appease them then what next? And after that? It's a deep rabbithole that shouldn't be gone down.
Crime is skyrocketing. Infrastructure is crumbling. Homeless are everywhere.
Worry about real problems- the ones we elected you to deal with, not easy, feel good band aids so you can say "see! I did a thing!"
I care a lot more about crime in my neighborhood than I do about statues and plaques on a church.

Keep Columbus - let those that want to remove it, build a monument to their nihilistic movement somewhere else.

Stop discriminating against the Italian/Sicilian Americans. We built America by non stop working ( blood sweat and tears) and that is how we get thanked by being discriminated against. SHAME SHAME SHAME !!!!
