This statue represents an important part of our country and city of Syracuse’s history as well. Leave the statue as is and erect another statue which also represents another aspect of our history. We can learn important lessons from our past by preserving and maintaining its representations not by eliminating or removing them.

We would not think of removing the Memorial Park display in Tipperary Hill. Then why think of removing the Columbus statue which stands proud displaying the ethnic roots and accomplishments of one segment of our diverse city.
