You can't change history by ripping down statues- you learn from your history. Make a new park with statues of chiefs of the 6 Nations to memorialize them!

Keep the statue. The story of how Syracuse residents got together to get that statue here is part of our local history.

Keep the statue but develop an area to honor our native Americans and other ethnic groups that help make our community strong. We are all one and we should look at ourselves as one made up of many. The current movement to tear us apart must end as we have all worked hard to make sure we judge all by their abilities and not their heritage.

As owner of Dilauro’s Bakery & Pizza and having my mother’s family come to America from Italy, I feel heritage is as important as any other right we as Americans enjoy. So many different ethnic backgrounds have come to this country to enjoy the freedom that is found here. Not all our history is perfect, but it is our history and no one should take that away.

How come this wasn't put to a vote within the general public of Onondaga county in the first place.

History shows that Columbus actually worked diligently to keep his crew from harming the indigenous population. No one is perfect, so neither was he. But his discovery lead to many good things.

Just don’t understand why they want to remove it. Plenty of vacant lots throughout the city to put up their statue. Leave Christopher Columbus statue where it is and belongs.
