Homeowners were not informed about the closure of the Barham exit prior to the decision. Obviously the commercial interests of Universal Studios is worth millions of dollars over the rights of the exisiting homeowners. I would like to see that all of the homeowners in the area are made aware of what the local officials and Universal Studios are doing to the local traffic patterns. Banners should be placed on Barham Bridge to inform motorists what is taking place & how it will affect them. Cahuenga South will have a greater gridlock than it does now.

This ramp needs to stay open. Our area is already congested and we battle traffic daily. This will only make it worse!

Without the Barham exit Hollywood Hills residents would have to exit on Highland, go down to the Hollywood bowl, make a U-turn, and come back up Cahuenga.. Can you imagine the traffic jam that would create??

If they close the Barham exit ramp, then the already congested 101 freeway that is on average 5 m.p.h during normal work days, now will become a parking lot in the morning and early evening rush hour commute. If anything there needs to be some mitigation in place before they move to the next phase. As it is now it takes an hour on average to get from Downtown LA to Barham (Monday through Friday). It's horrible enough as it is. This will cause some local residents to move out of the community. The property taxes are rising, the rents are rising, and now the increased commute time and for what? We want to get something out of our hard earned income taxes.

Keep the Barham Ramp OPEN on Southbound 101. I am a resident in the neighborhood and use the Barham ramp frequently.

This will simply route much more traffic onto Cahuenga coming from both North and South as residents and business have to exit at Lankershim or Hollywood Bowl - and make thisngs REALLY impossible during Bowl season.

This is beyond stupid, what they should do it make it twice as wide and add more lanes, especially after Harry Potter opens.

I don't beleive that there is any good reason to close this ramp except to help Universal line its pockets. i vote for the community of people who ujse this exit to reach their homes and/or businesses, use if frequently. Please keep this ramp ( known as the Barham exit) OPEN permanently.

Even the idea that this closure creates the biggest distance between exits on the 101 at 2.5 miles does NOT tell the whole story... The truth is that the Highlands exit is a SOUTHBOUND-TRAFFIC-ONLY exit, so for ANYONE trying to get to that 2.5 mile area of land the Lankershim Blvd exit is the ONLY option.

My apologies for 2 comments but I hit send too early. Has anyone considered connecting to the Hollywood Freeway southbound at the existing Lankershim onramp (across from Regal Place)via a bridge across the freeway from the existing Buddy Holly Drive which connects to Universal Studios Boulevard? This would eliminate the conflict with the Barham Blvd offramp.
