As a Graduate of the Class 1984, I played two varsity sports, as did my older brother '81, three nephews, one niece (all early 2000's) and now we have two boys in the HS both playing two sports. The AD potion has been integral to the success of our sports program and the confidence building of the participants. We have shined with championships (conference & state) in multiple sports (girls and boys) and several times this has earned us Top-10 National Rankings opening up more opportunities for our student-athletes. This has helped hundreds if not thousands of student-athletes get into a better college due to their competitive nature. This position, if moved to part-time or a shared position will erode the caliber of our sports program and ultimately have a negative affect on college placement for our athletes. Please re-consider this decision to eliminate this full-time position.

I graduated from MLHS and although I did not participate in most sports the sports excellence and academics are what made Mountain Lakes what is was. Best in state!!

Mountain Lakes cannot go without a full time AD. As a person that has done this job in the past, this position is so important to the success and reputation of Mountain Lakes High School. To have this job performed by more than one person is definitely not ideal to the success of the athlete program which is one of the most successful in the state. This is a very important component to the total success of Mountain Lakes High School and the Mountain Lakes Community! As a person that has held the position of Athletics Director at Mountain Lakes High and for 24 years at another area high school, I would be more than willing to discuss this concern and look into other ways to save money in the Athletic Department.
