I was there 11 years. Pre-K-3 to 8th grade. 100,000 memories. I was planning on my twin girls starting pre-K-3 in the fall. My heart is shattered.

We have been at the Academy for four years - since our daughters began PK3 and K. Now they are in 3rd and 1st grade. We love this school, the teachers, the staff and the families. Our children are so upset with this news. Both started crying as my husband and I shared the news with them. These kids and all families are dealing with SO much already during this pandemic. Please, we need compassion and support from our faith institution. This needs to be handled better. We need the chance to work with the archdiocese and save our school.

The closing of AOLP is an absolute disgrace. It is an amazing school with caring and dedicated faculty. You are literally destroying people’s lives during an already difficult time. Please figure out a way to keep this long standing, exceptional school going.

I'm a student at the academy and I am really sad that the archdiocese is closing my school. I have been at the academy for 5 years and I like this school very much. The teachers are awesome and I want to continue my education at AOLP.

My son has been enrolled at AOLP since 2010; it is the only school he has known. The relationships he has developed with the teachers and staff of the school and the priests of the parish are one of the anchors of his life. To close the school without notice and uproot him from the wonderfully caring and supportive environment that AOLP has provided teaches him a lesson, one as distressing as the divorce of parents or the death of a dear family member, that a young mind should not have to learn: that the structures that support your life are built on sand and can be washed away in an instant. Show respect to the students, parents, faculty, and staff of AOLP; give us fair notice; give us the information and time we need to make alternate arrangements for our children and ourselves. Keep the school open, and minimize the distress and anxiety caused by this untimely decision.

A disgrace. Where is the analysis? Why weren't the parish/school/parents given an opportunity to sole the problem? This just wasn't decided. Why was it done in secret?

When the archdiocese closed down our school they weren’t just hurting the people who worked there, they hurt the kids and families too. Our world right now is already turned upside down and for them to close our school during this pandemic was just wrong. I have been there since pre K three and have many memories at that school. AOLP is a great home to everyone. I hope AOLP can stay open.

AOLP is a wonderful school with the most dedicated and professional educators and staff my children are touched everyday. AOLP is not only a school but a family to us. We are praying for Devine intervention to change the hearts of Archdiocese. St Jude, pray for us.

The spirit of the school is the same as the spirit of the congregation of Our Lady of Peace: Strong, vibrant, and most of all, necessary. Please reconsider this decision and keep. The school open!
