If it's not broke don't fix it!

I think we can all agree that what we have in Fitzroy is pretty special. We study alternative and complimentary medicine in the heart of alternative Melbourne. We have found ourselves in an awesome little hub, within the walls of campus and outside on the Northside streets, filled with people who are open minded and open hearted. Because of this we have been able to create a successful clinic.

Our walls are filled with people passionate about health and healing. We study alongside people of different disciplines, meaning that our friends today will become a huge network of colleagues all with in the same field of healing.

So why then is there move to dilute the magic of southern school to Flinders st.

Remember there was a reason we chose SSNT over RMIT and endeavour

When you close your eyes and think of Fitzroy, what do you think of.... open mindedness, alternative thinking and the perfect place to have a clinic.

When you think of Flinders street what do you think of... dirty crowded streets, floating cigarette buts and the foul stench of urine.

I ask you, do you really think that’s the place to ask our patients to come to if they want to take the next step in their health journey?

I have been spent the last few days reading through the stories you all have been sending about how much our campus community means to your healing journeys. It is clear that moving the school to such a loud and busy part of the city would destroy the very peace we have built here in Fitzroy. I am working on getting a meeting to present our concerns directly to the administration so they cannot ignore the people who actually use this space.

Seeing this much support for our school makes me realize how many of us truly value the sanctuary we built here in Fitzroy. I was feeling discouraged about the move proposal but this wave of shared passion gives me real hope that we can keep our clinic where it belongs.

The location was a big factor of deciding which uni to attend. The community around Fitzroy is well established and really feels like home. This is a major part of the feel of the school. The commute to the city would be a massive negative and would deter from attending classes.

Even though I would save an extra 20 mins travelling on PT to the Flinders St campus I chose SSNT for the atmosphere and location. It’s tucked away from the chaotic city and the parking is great. Use the funds to revamp Fitzroy!

Please don't move ..I love coming to uni in Fitzroy. Unless you are going to offer free student parking i just can't do public transport with children to take to school and pick up from school .

I hope a decision will be made to keep SSNT in FITZROY. Although parking is still restricted in FITZROY, it would be a disaster to have to find parking in Flinders st. At least there are 2 hour spots outside the building & $10 parking in the car park above Coles on Johnson St. Also, the environment is a friendly one in Fitzroy without having to navigate the already congested city road & foot traffic. I myself was previously enrolled at Endeavour & came to FITZROY avoid the city.

As a student who moved from endeavour to ssnt, part of the appeal for me was the fact that is wasn’t so ‘hustle and bustle’ and that I could actually park conveniently and study somewhere in peace, endeavour was so noisy, you heard all the traffic and chaos and ssnt is quiet. Moving will cause a lot of students to reconsider their options.

Couldn't agree more. SSNT Fitzroy is a super special space for students and patients alike! Flinders street is not an ideal environment to cultivate that kind of magic and community.

The Fitzroy campus is a beautiful space home to an amazing community, anywhere else will not be the same.

I like uni's that aren't degree factories.
