We have 3 small children, and both parents work outside the home. Our schedule is so tight right now, that moving us out of Northwood would result in us having to hire someone to help with our oldest because of the time it takes to get from Hillside to 400, versus Northwood to 400.

Countless hours of study and analysis and communication have been spent by residents of Spring Ridge on this matter. Most of us understand that you can't always get what you want.
BUT the criteria set forth by the Board are not being followed. That is frustrating and unfair.
So, there must be a predetermined outcome that circumvents the stated criteria. It needs to be discovered, exposed, and any school system employees found to be involved should be disciplined.
I sadly suspect that it is an unwritten desire to balance area schools ethnically, economically, and by assumed parental-money-and-ability-to-volunteer-time-and-expertise.
If social engineering is at the heart of this, it should be revealed. What a waste of taxpayers' time and energy to pretend otherwise.

Northwood elementary is within walking distance of spring ridge. Why would we be moved 3 miles away and add to the already horrible traffic on old Alabama?

All logic above! My youngest just went to 6th grade. I don't live in S.R., but would have been livid if this occurred while he was a student at Northwood, particularly since he has special needs and change is highly disruptive to his progress and security.

No credible reason has been given for why Spring Ridge needs to be moved out of Northwood. It's as if the planning commission started with a conclusion and then has worked backwards ever since trying to come up with a justification for it. Please re-consider this proposal and keep Spring Ridge at Northwood.

It does not make sense to move the only subdivision close enough to Northwood to walk to school out of their home school. Leave these students where they belong.
