I'm an alumni. They actually started this when we were there in the early 80's. Why take PE when you play a sport or are in band/drill team or cheer. If you don't, then take PE

As a graduate and baseball player from 2000/2004 if I had to take PE before practice I would not have been able to have energy to play my sport. Don't pass this as our future sports players need their energy

6th period sports provides not only the physical exercise, but helps create and/or foster teamwork, discipline, character and more.

This does not seem to be a well-thought out proposal from what I have seen, and it is troubling that the administration appears to be trying to jam it through without adequately informing parents in advance.

Changing sports teams from sixth period would be detrimental to the students who participate in team sports. It would be cruel to penalize freshmen and sophomores by taking away an academic class period from them. Please don't make this foolish mistake.

My daughter was a freshman on a team and I don't see how taking it out of 6th period would benefit the student or family.

As a former student athlete myself in high school, it is not smart to do this. My high school did this my sophomore year and not only did the performance decline (the students were tired and stressed for time) but morale fell too.

It must somehow mean more money for the school. That's always the reason for illogical decisions that never have student's best interests in mind. Do the right thing Granada.

6th period PE/Sports was critical for me in both basketball and volleyball time wise. Delaying it till after school would have, and will, take time away from other important things along study lines, family time, and being able to have time to relax from school and studying.

Mr. Bauer just praised the student/athletes during the 2017 graduation ceremony and how such a high percentage of Granada students participate in sports and are successful academically. The current system is a great factor in their success as Student/athletes.

As a parent of a busy student athlete, I think changing the current system is a terrible idea.

It extends the day for everyone. It's beneficial to everyone involved if the 6th period is used for PE requirements for athletes.

This is ridiculous! If a child plays sports they should not have to do PE. Much less not have to do sports after school! As they have plenty of homework!!!!
