I'm a graduating senior at Granada this year and I've played waterpolo and have done swim team all four years. And my freshman year, I remember leaving during 6th period to practice. It's so much more convenient. Student athletes could go in at the regular time instead of having to wake up a couple hours earlier to go to zero period. Student athletes could get more rest when they have long nights of homework to do. Go back to the old ways Granada.

As a student athlete this is highly unfair towards all student athletes by adding stuff towards the already busy schedule of granada hills highschool students which can cause stress and exhaust to us

As a football player- there are many times it's hard to even fit in homework and studying. This just adds more steps to a teenagers already stressful busy life. Keep it as it is.

As a carring father of a student athlete i think this is unfair. Do to the reason our children already have a busy schedule and adding more on to it can cause stress and exhaust to our children.

I have a sport, and as it is, I have had to drop a class to accommodate. If this "rule" passes, I will have to drop another one of my classes, and I will not be able to complete the requirements that GRANADA set, due to a restriction that GRANADA placed.

In cheer we get a lot done during sixth period, so taking away our sixth period will make us lose a lot of time and make practices run longer, making us have no time for homework or sleep.

Despite me not participating in any sports, I find this new P.E. + sports policy incredibly ridiculous. All it does is give another excuse for students to have more classes, just like this also ridiculous policy that students must have a full load of 6 classes (with an exception allowing for 5 classes), even in their senior year. Granada just wants students to have more classes so they can make their school look better, without any regard for the well-being of the students! More classes means more time in school, which are both mentally exhausting and (with this new sports-P.E. policy) physically exhausting for the students, which gives them less time to study, do homework, and participate in extracurriculars. This policy is incredibly inconvenient and overall detrimental to the students; how ironic, since any logical person would expect a school to provide what is best for its students. I truly hope Granada does not go through with the policy in question.

As a soon to be graduate form Granada and an athlete for four years this may be the worst decision ever because athletes already have a busy schedule and making them take PE on top of their sport is ridiculous because there practices are already hard enough. It is best to keep sports during 6th I see no reason to move it

Sports should definitely stay during sixth period. It is exhausting and physically tolling enough to come home long after school ends with a sport being during 6th; the students would end up being more tired to the point where it is unhealthy if practices are moved to after school. This does not even include the consideration that these students will have to do homework, study for tests, and work on projects in addition to coming home very late. For a school that encourages educational growth, this decision seems more like something where PE teachers can increase their salaries rather than a benefit to the students. It raises the question of who the real priority of the school is. Because clearly, making students take PE in addition to a sport, making them practice starting after school, and requiring them to take a zero period hurts granada's students who are only trying to make the best of their high school experience by taking a sport.
