My husband is a surgeon and can absolutely testify to the fact that lower temps are a necessity for keeping out germs also. We all know that dorm rooms become breeding grounds for spreading germs. Lower temps will help avoid this potential problem.

Even at the lowest current temperature settings, the dorm rooms can get rather stuffy due to lack of circulation. Raising the minimum temperature would make this worse and almost impossible to get a comfortable nights rest.

Someone says they are trying to be green. How is it that they spend on watering grass, having flowers planted etc. that's not being green. This school is receiving millions in support & they choose to have students suffer from overheating? Sponsors of newly built dorms, do you really want your students in your dorms that you paid for to suffer? Is the president of this school controlling his home thermostats'? Especially when it gets to over 100 here in Texas. What about students on the higher floors of dorms it will be so much hotter.

I should be able to be as cold or hot as I want to be in my room. We're paying enough for that privilege

This new requirement does not consider the comfort and well being of those being affected at all. For me and many other students, I am unable to sleep in an uncomfortably hot room and I already am having sleeping troubles with this new change. This needs to be abolished immediately.

Rooms are stuffy and need ac. We pay way more per month to live in the dorms than if off campus. We need ac.

Hey administrators, what temperature are your homes set at?
Not everyone is comfortable at the same temp.
My husband is a surgeon and can absolutely testify to the fact that lower temps are a necessity for keeping out germs also. We all know that dorm rooms become breeding grounds for spreading germs. Lower temps will help avoid this potential problem.
