This change is ridiculous, and is once again indicative of the fact that you can't apply the corporate model to a learning institution, President Turner. How is it that you raised tuition almost 5% but have cut first library hours, then dining hall staff, and now this? Have some decency and respect the fact that we are paying far too much money to wake up humid and sweating. This isn't a matter of saving a few nickels, this is a matter of student health. President Turner, ask not what you can do for your trustees, ask what you can do for your students.

A minimum of 72 degrees is not acceptable. A student in his/her dorm room should be able to have reasonable control over the ac in their room and not allowing them to do so, or restricting them to so little as a 4 degree range, is absolutely inadequate. I demand that these measures be replaced.

While I believe that 72 is an acceptable temperature for non-residential buildings, forcing residence halls to follow this policy is simply rediculous considering how much we pay to live here.

For the amount of money students have to pay to live in the dorms, that we are FORCED to live in for two years, we should, at the very least have control over the thermostat.

I'd rather not be on the verge of sweating in my own room. Maybe that's just me though.
