Dennis is a beloved Security Officer who has been employed by the Bergen County Police at the Bergen County Academies (Hackensack) for 12 years. During that time, he has gotten to know the entire staff, student body, and parents of the community. He also knows every inch of the campus. Thanks in large part to Dennis, the school is a safe environment where the students not only know and trust Dennis but also feel secure; everybody loves him. Why? Because Dennis goes above and beyond his employment on a daily basis. For instance, he eagerly participates in school functions, including this year's Fashion Show to raise money for the Senior Class - as a model. He regularly does anything asked for the benefit of the school and its students. Dennis is an amazing role model who is respected by all. Please do not take him away from us. In a world which is filled with violence at school, BCA students - who have many academic stresses, do not need to worry about their security too. Keep Dennis Ross where he wants to be and belongs - at BCA.

Seeing this level of support confirms what I already felt deep down about how much Dennis means to our school. It is incredibly moving to realize how many people understand why his presence is vital for our students.

Dennis has looked out for our kids for over a decade and he deserves to stay right where he is. We are getting very near one hundred signatures so please send the link to someone else tonight to help us cross that line.

He Has Always been a devoted security. He ALWAYS stays late until the last kid is picked up..!!! I have been one of the parent that always pick my son late and Mr. Ross comes out to make sure that my son is picked up by a known adult..!!! I definitely have a lot to thank him for..!!!

While picking up my son early from school one day, an individual crashed right into the back of my car while I was making a left into the school parking lot. Dennis was right there. He ensured I was ok, provided me comfort as I was very shaken up, then immediately thought about my son and worried he would be upset when he saw the car damage wondering if I was harmed. He made sure Michael knew I was ok and unharmed. He then stayed with the both us, even when the police arrived. He truly cares about his BCA people. We were both so thankful for his comforting presence.

Dennis truly is a member of our family...My girls get dropped off and picked up from BCA for sports. In these times when you never know who is watching and waiting, I felt certain in knowing my girls were safe with Dennis. He never ever left them unattended. Please, our kids need to know they are safe!

There are a few different wings to this building. Dennis knows every inch of this building and grounds. Extremely important in an emergency. The new security person will need a map to get around here for a while. . I have to wonder, was the safety of the students (and staff) considered when this decision was being made?

Dennis is the heartbeat of BCA. My daughter always feels better knowing he is at the front desk when she walks in. Why mess with something that works so well??

12 years of service and he knows everyone by name. You dont throw away that kind of experience. Dennis is the best and losing him would be a huge mistake for the school.
