Scott McKeon is the finest instructor I have ever had at Stanford. Losing him would be a substanial loss to future generations of social science students. We all need Scott!

Scott is by far the best professor I’ve had at Stanford. The fact that he can teach highly difficult classes with tough grading and still average student reviews of 4.9/5 shows his skill for, experience in, and commitment to teaching economic and statistical reasoning. Instructors like Scott who are passionate, brilliant, and compassionate make Stanford the incredible institution that it is. If you’re reading this and haven’t taken Econ 102a/b yet, wait to take it with Scott! You won’t regret it. Scott got me excited about economics and statistics, and I hope he can continue doing so for future stanford students.

Scott McKeon is the best professor I had at Stanford. Econ 137 is the best taught class I took.

Scott is one of the (if not the) most talented lecturers in the University. His dedication to the course material and his students is unparalleled and he has been by far one of the best teachers I have had in my life.

Scott was without a doubt one of the best instructor's I've had, not just in the econ department, but at Stanford overall. Scott is deeply caring and a fantastic teacher. It would be a travesty to cut his courses.

Scott is one of the best professors I've had during my time at Stanford, and he is one of the best professors in the econ department. He is an exceptional educator who genuinely cares about his students and is passionate about the material he teaches. Taking his classes was fundamental in my decision to declare a major in Econ. Cutting his class load would be doing a major disservice to future students.

Prof. McKeon is hands down the BEST instructor I have ever had the fortune of learning from. He has made teaching an art form, and I could not imagine anyone else teaching ECON 102A&B with as much ease as him. He taught me econometric concepts in my sophomore year and they have still stuck with me as a senior. That is not a small feat considering the pace of the quarter system. He makes learning fun. Please please PLEASE do not give up such a fantastic lecturer. He and Mark Duggan are the reason why most of us decide to pursue Economics at Stanford. It would be criminal to cut his classes, and it would only serve to harm the department in the long run.

Scott was extremely influential in helping me understand the basics of econometrics that have guided most of my research today. His dedication to his students, his superlative teaching skill, and his love of economics are all palpable when you watch his lectures. Stanford, both within the Economics department and as an institution, would be remiss to not reconsider retaining Scott as a professor.

As a Public Policy major, my favorite courses have been the ones within the Econ department especially Econ 102A and 102B. Scott made probability and statistics fun and easy to understand. His courses have made me consider pursuing more statistic-intensive courses and research-heavy projects. The Econ 102 series and the department itself will not be the same without Professor McKeon.

Scott is an amazing professor and his teaching style and engagement is unmatched. His commitment to students learning experience and courses have been my favorite at Stanford. Stanford Econ & MS&E wouldn't be the same without Scott.

Best instructor I've ever had. I open every single "nominate your professor for.." email to nominate him for whatever there is to nominate. He is the reason why I chose the Econ major. When school was still in person, his class felt like the epitome of a "Stanford University class" you would see on a movie -- the instruction was engaging, the students were engrossed, the atmosphere was intense but fun. It's that class where I sit in the auditorium and think "this is why I chose Stanford". I would've never imagined liking Econometrics, but they ended up being my favorite classes. Because of his classes, I went on to fill my schedule with more quantitative classes, and even considered double-majoring in math or statistics. He gave someone (who for all her life believed that she was not meant to excel at quantitative things) the confidence and interest to do well them.

Scott is, without a doubt, the best lecturer I have had during my time at Stanford, and I would be sad for the future students who would miss out on high-quality education and teaching from him. Keeping Scott is the way to go!

Scott McKeon was the first teacher at Stanford to make me care about a class and is by far the best teacher in the Economics department. He is incredibly engaging, caring, and just overall incredible. He is the reason that I chose to study Economics. 102A and B have been my favorite classes that I've taken at Stanford, and it would be a shame for future Stanford students not to get the chance to learn from Scott. I can't imagine that anyone would be able to have the impact that he does on so many students every year.

Scott is easily one of the best teachers I've had - he teaches in a way that really gives students an intuitive feel for stats and probability, and his commitment to ensuring students properly grasp the concepts is unrivalled.

Scott McKeon remains my favorite instructor in Stanford’s economics department. With his outgoing demeanor and clear dedication to his students, Scott has crafted a lineup of economics courses that have reminded me why I chose to study at Stanford—for its challenging and engaging take on learning. Without a doubt, Scott is a gem in our economics department. It would be a shame for future Stanford students to not have the opportunity to participate in his Econ 102A, 102B, and 137 courses.
