I've been using the SCOPE before/after school for more than 10 yrs. It is a well run program, Mr. Joe and the rest of staff definitely keeps the children safe and engaged in activities. There are times in which my children don't want to leave. I'm very surprised that the Board would put up an RFP bid without notifying the parents who are currently using these services and paying for them. SCOPE is the only after program that runs until 6:30pm which helps those parents who are commuting from the city and/or further out east. Please keep it at Dever

After so many years of Mr. Joe and his amazing team looking after our precious kids without incident I can't of a reason why I would want to change this. To sell to the cheapest bid...no thank you!

scope has been like an extended family for my daughter for the past 5 years. we love joe, grace, mrs. fields, cathy and all the other staff who take such good care of the kids. my daughter gets her homework done every day, has time to play outdoors or be creative or play games and has participated in plays and talent shows. she loves attending scope

More information regarding this possible change should have been dispensed. Is this being done out of necessity and/or did the SCOPE program contract expire. If the RFP was issued to explore another program as a cost-saving measure, then it should have been told to the community. But it seems awfully coincidental that the district-wide volleyball tournament was cancelled this year due to "low attendance" when the gym was packed last year and from the people we spoke to from previous years said that was always the case. Be upfront with the community that pays for these services both through our taxes and fees required by the program. By your lack of communication and also the fact the meeting is being held when the great majority of the people being affected have to be at work would lead many to believe that there is a hidden agenda to this possible proposed change of programs.

My children have attended Scope since 2007. Scope has been a safe haven and an institution for our family. We trust Scope to care and educate our kids. Scope is an extension of our kids day that they are comfortable with and look forward to. Please don't take that away from our children.

SCOPE has been an integral part of our time at Dever, and I know the same goes for so many other families. Joe puts his heart and so much effort into running the program—it would be such a disadvantage for so many to lose the program!

Scope at James A. Dever is a blessing for working families where a parent is unable to drop off and pick up his or her child during school hours. It provides a safe outlet with friendly staff and a sense of assurance of parents who would otherwise have few if any options for reliable childcare. Please don't take away this valuable service.

Its an outrage that the school didn't consult with the parents to make a decision this important. The parents need to be involved in the decision on who is taking care of our children

We enjoyed this program so much and would hate to not let other children not have the great memories that SCOPE gives and I would love the program to be there when my son enters James A Dever
