how can they expect children as young as 5 to be at school 9 hours a day, its ridiculous!! when will they be kids? when will they see their families when they are not asleep?? theres more to education and learning about life than just school

I am against the 9 hour days to.... 1. Because children won't to able to concentrate because to the days will be to long 2. If they were that long after school clubs would never able to run, so all extra things won't run 3.If school extends then cleaners/caretakers will need to stay to nearly 9:00pm

I did not have my children to pass them over for teachers to affectively bring up. How can a 5 yet old be expected to do a 9 hour day, 5 days a week?? Most working don't even do those hours! When does this allow children to be children?? I want my child to know the importance of a loving family but hey! I guess they'll be able to teach that in history... My eldest is 6. We we eat dinner by 5pm and he is in bed 6.30-7pm. With health issues I would never expect him to go to bed on a full stomach or to push his bedtime back, causing tiredness and him eventually becoming exhausted, run down and eventually ill!! This angers me beyond belief. These are my children. Not the states. I wish to bring them up, not a teacher.

I don't agree with the hours thing, But with not finding time to book holidays, Where i work i get 2 weeks easter and christmas and first 4 weeks summer off and rest of half terms are deep cleans, But I personally would keep the hours at 9:00-3:00 but then reduce the 13 week holdays to 10, Hopefully this will drag till 2015 after elections so gove doesn't get in

9 hours is too long, we would end up spending no time with them. My children go to bed at 7! They would be to tired to learn any more than they do now.

far to long for children to be away from the home . A day that long they wouldn't learn .
