This program is vital to our area. As a fire captain who has started 2 programs in the area, Buckner and Coello I stand behind what these guys do. The cost of insurance and fuel is nothing compared to someone’s life. We all know our local ambulances can be overwhelmed with calls at any time. Providing this service can easily mean the difference between life and death. Stop and think if it was one of your family members in need. How important would this program be to you then.

First responders are a vital asset to a community. Cost should not be an issue when it comes to lives of our local citizens. If there is a lack of funds to pay for the first responder program, than other means should be made to provide the necessary funds to continue. I strongly urge the council men and women to reconsider this plan for canceling the first responder program.

These programs are vital in increasing patient survival rates. Statistics have proven an increase in patient survival rates and the need for First Responders to aid Paramedics in rural EMS. Rural EMS is not the typical or ideal environment. We need each other.

Dropping this program would be a bad decision on the city boards behalf.

Health care is no joke. Working with first responders save lives. In emergencies time is a factor. The ambulance crew maybe busy or some distance away. First responders can get there start care and help the the EMTs arrive.

It would be a deadly mistake to stop running first responders to medical calls. Every town needs this.
