This is an invaluable service to the residents of West City, at virtually no cost to the city. Why would anyone believe it is a good idea to get rid of this program?

Why take away something that works. Sometime it take 30min. For help to arrive. So why take away something so important and get there quicker! Save our 1st response!

This should never be removed because of a dollar bill . the Department says to serve and protect. That includes life.

It would be crazy to not have rescue in West City. If I were in Wal-Mart and my father had a sudden medical emergency what a note that help will be delayed because a village (with hand over fist revenue) didn't want to pay for rescue services.

Most the time first responders make before ambulance and those few min or seconds are the difference between life or death.... just think if it was your loved one!!!

I believe all fire departments need first responders. They save lives, plain and simple. Isn't that the point of 911 services? By the time that EMS or Fire Services show up that's valuable time lost that could mean life or death to Victims of an emergency... EMERGENCY. Meaning someone needs help ASAP. I bet if a first responder saved the life of a close family member or friend of this so called "City Board" then they'd see it differently. But until then. It's up to us, WE THE PEOPLE, the TAX PAYERS, to speak up. We need to be heard.

This is rediculous to take away from the citizens of the city. A much need asset in a person's time of need especially if an ambulance is not immediately available.
