As our college, it is their duty to keep the students enrolled here safe. If this individual is allowed to renroll, the safety and security of each and every one of us will be jeopardized.

Frank Costanza, please read the court transcript once posted. This may shed light on the other side of the store left out in the petition above. Then maybe God can forgive the alleged victim for lying. I too am an engineer in the same area... and after reading the transcript the victims credibility is obviously lacking.

Unfortunately it appears as though some people will sign anything. Regardless of facts. Very sad!

Rape is a terrible thing - that is one thing we should all be able to agree on. And as a woman myself I also tend to side with the victim... HOWEVER for those of you who did not actually attend the court hearing yet are signing this petition I URGE to read the court transcripts. It notes the alleged victim's multiple discrepancies/changes in her story, the fact that she was intoxicated and buying and selling illegal substances and her decision to deny a rape kit, which was offered to her that night. This is a very unfortunate circumstance for each of these students, one of which being falsely accused of a heinous crime and the other, for revenge?, to cover up some problem in their own lives?, to get attention and sympathy from others? - who knows. What matters is that a formal trial was carried out and the defendant was found Not Guilty in record time. If I was elected to a jury for a rape case, before hearing any details I would subconsciously already blame the defendant, but it is obvious there is enough evidence to support the fact that the defendant did not rape the alleged victim as she claimed. The Duke Lacrosse case already happened once and tarnished those boys reputations, let's not let it happen again. Don't be an ignorant bystander. Do some research and then have an educated opinion...

It is my understanding that anyone that is interested can requests public records and get the actual facts of this case. Rather than basing comments on gossip of an hysterical few it might be wise to do some research and find out what is actual fact. All of this was generated by one female individual student that in court under oath confessed to being an under age drinker and a user of an illegal drug. In my opinion this young lady is more of a danger to other students on campus especially males who might unknowingly get pulled into her schemes and find themselves facing charges that she has conjured up to get the attention of other students. We have to be concerned about all students both male and female. Just reading the posts the young man in question has been called a rapist, has been accused of doing this to other students, has been given the label of a repeat offender, Is to be feared, is being accused of being in violation of Title IX and so on. Please hear this. He was found not guilty of all charges by 12 level headed, court screened, attentive, adult men and women. If parents want to be concerned about something in this situation I would advise looking into why there is underage drinking and illegal drug use being allowed on campus. Why is a student that openly admitted in court to doing both being allowed to remain on campus? An accusation is not a conviction. However the consequences of an accusation given the comments of the majority on this site seem to be as life altering as a conviction. I hope for this girl that she gets the help she obviously needs, finds her way into truth, is successful in putting her life together after what she has done and finds some purpose for good along the way. Having raised eight children, 3 male and 5 female, I can say that both are at equal risk for harm when they leave home. The world is a scary place. As parents we just hope that we have done our job well and taught our children to be respectful of and respon

I will be glad to post the full court transcripts as soon as they are all scanned (100 + pages!). If you actually would like to be informed of what actually occurred, I advise you to wait and read though it before making an uninformed decision to sign this petition.

Not knowing the details fully, if the student was found not guilty then the petition was written in a biased and prejudicial manner. I urge people not to sign anything until they read both sides. For that reason I support the comment made by Cydney above.

By someone below stating "I love you Anna" it is obvious who this post is referring to which is bordering on the edge of slander.

I can't believe this is something that has to go through petition to be prevented. There shouldn't be a question about whether or not a rapist stays in their victims school. The answer is no, always.

The school process is separate from the criminal process. Perhaps there is more here than what has been brought up criminally. The school will not decide if he is criminally liable for rape, only if he broke school rules and code of conduct regulations. A jury has no pull in privatized college regulations. It is also a big assumption that this petition is referring to the same student. Have a nice day :)

Feel free to email the Title IX coordinator. Her name is Cathy Dickerson. The more responses our school officials get from this, they will understand how serious we are about this situation.

I am unsure of how he got away with this in criminal court besides the fact that his lawyer was a great one. However, the criteria for finding him "guilty" in criminal court and finding him "responsible" in the school hearing are very different. His verdict in court has less weight in the hearing than one might think.

This student is not a rapist. He was found not guilty on both charges by a jury. Who by the way came back with a verdict in almost record time. Less than 30 minutes.
