As students, we all have busy lives and abundant responsibilities. For myself, these other responsibilities sometimes get in the way of my dedication for particular classes. The ones I always give my all to however, are the ones that have passionate and enthusiastic professors. Professor Wender engages his students, he makes us care even more than we already do because we see how relevant the class material is in our lives. Professor Wender is by far the best professor I've had while attending UW and it would be a failure of the University to let him go.

He was the reason I became an LSJ student. The media nowadays mainly focus on gun control laws and police brutality. Who's better to address these issues than a former police sergeant turned professor? There are quite a few of professors that I can list that shouldn't have their contract renewed in LSJ/SOC, and Professor Wender definitely isn't one of them.

Please remember that at the latest LSJ commencement in spring 2015, many of the students that chose to say something before receiving our letter of graduation, spoke about how our favorite courses were taught by professor Wender. If you do not renew his contract, please realize you are depriving an excellent education for thousands of students to come.

Professor Wender is the best teacher I have ever had. Please let him stay so that he can make the academic impact on others that he has had on me!

Although I have never taken a class taught by professor Wender, I have heard multiple students talk about him. From what I have heard he is a great professor and has a plethora of experience to supplement his classes.
As a psychology student who is aware of the potential release of a professor in a completely different department, it sounds like this is a mistake on the behalf of the department. I appreciate the great professors I have had the privelege of having at the UW and I hope LSJ/soc students can continue to have him as a professor.

This deeply saddens me, I was hoping to take at least one more of Wender's classes before I graduate next year. But what is even more disappointing is knowing that there would be hundreds of students missing out on having an incredible and thought-provoking academic experience just like mine. He deserves to stay and continue to inspire students and push them to their full potential.

Professor Wender was one of the reasons I chose to stay at UW after my freshmen year. His Sociology 110 class showed me learning and knowledge that I had not yet experienced and made me 100% positive that UW was the school I was meant to be at because of professors like him. For the University to lose him would be an outrage.

One of the very BEST teachers the UW has! He's passionate about his job and really shows that through his teachings. Being a student can be super stressful but with Wender as a teacher, learning is made easy and fun. Every class I've taken with him has been awesome! I would hope that future students also get the same opportunity to learn from such a great, honest professor!

Wender is by far one of the best professors at UW. His teaching style is incredible, I learned more from Wender during summer quarter than I did from 3 other professors all year! He helped me understand concepts from different perspectives and always challenged my learning.
