I am a UW 2012 grad and Professor Wender is one of the best teacher I've ever had. One of the few classes I took that I never missed. Prof. Wender engaged the class like no other teacher had and made me care for the issues that were addressed in the Sociology/LSJ classes. He is a teacher that needs to be on staff. The students, and university will benefit by having him there continue doing what he does best.

I had the privilege of taking a class with Professor Wender as a UWT student who enrolled in a quarter of classes at UW Seattle. His course was thought-provoking, fun, and incredibly informative. I looked forward to each class and was completely engaged for the entirety of every class. I'm currently working to complete a JD at UW Law with hopes to work in criminal justice reform and Professor Wender was instrumental in shaping that goal.

I took drugs & society with him and it was honestly one of the classes I always looked forward to. He was such a badass, incredibly engaging and genuinely interested in having fulfilling discussions with all of us. It was a huge lecture but he made it feel like a small classroom environment.

Professor Wender remains of of the most stimulating and passionate professors I have ever learned from. It shocks and saddens me to think that he might not continue to inspire students at the university with of Washinton. His distinguished thought process and method of teaching have allowed me to continue to explore and think critically about the world based on the material I leaned in the courses I took with him.

It is a profound mistake for LSJ and SOC to let him go. Jonathan Wender is the backbone of LSJ and is well known throughout the UW. Stay up to date with the campaign to reverse this decision:

Prof. Wender is the most talented lecturer that I encountered over four years at UW. It is imperative that the university and LSJ department keep him on board.

Listen to the student body; this is who they learn the most from. Why take that away?

A stimulating, thought-provoking professor. Two years later and I still remember all that he taught me - a rarity considering all that I learned in economics is out the window. Other students deserve the same thought-provoking, quality education!

UW desperately needs to keep professors that students like.
