My initial reaction to this was shock and to be angry with the university, but Professor Wender taught me to look deeper and truly think about problems rather than react. He got me to search for the why in my views and those of others. So without rushing to judgement about a situation I know little about, I will say he is the finest educator I have experienced at UW and is a huge reason I am the teacher I am today. He cares about students as people and my just revenue makers. I hope that this issue can be resolved as I believe professor Wender is an asset to the university and all of its students.

Professor Wender is one of the best educators I have had the pleasure of knowing. His teaching is what inspired me to study LSJ and ultimately pursue a career in the field. UW is lucky to have him- not renewing his contract would deny many students the opportunity to truly learn, be inspired, and find their passion in LSJ.

Professor Wender was my favorite professor I had during my time at UW, hands down. Because of his energy, unique perspective, ability to motivate his students, and superior teaching talent I went out of my way to take his several of his classes, and I know many of my colleagues did as well. He is an integral part of the LSJ program and absolutely deserves to keep his job.

It truly saddens my heart that this is the third time I have found a most wonderful professor at the UW, only to learn that the UW is letting them go the following year. I don't know how this school measures teacher success, but it sure as hell doesn't know how to do it accurately because it would keep professors like Jonathan Wender.

I no longer go to UW and only had the privilege of taking one of his classes, but he was by far my most favorite and challenging professor. He absolutly radiated expertise in his field and passion for the subject. I still recall my first class with him thinking "THIS is a professor!" Hopefully UW can keep him!

Please keep Professor Wender. He is the one teacher that I have been highly recommended to take a class from. Each quarter I try to find room to fit him into my schedule. I will finally get a chance spring quarter and would love more opportunities after that. He is a favorite among many and UW is a better place with him here.
