I have been in Old Powhatan Estates for 35 years. The rural life I started with has changed and not for the better. I don't want Chesterfield county housing and traffic, not to mention higher taxes to pay for this crap. The end of Page rd,. resembles a Jeff Davis Hwy war zone at the cycle shop. No one but the property owner wants this development.

There is not a single positive thing I can say about this proposed development. The East West Communities have been far from transparent regarding their intentions. Are they building houses, townhouses, apartments, cottages?? The water/sewer was built to entice commercial growth, not private housing. The traffic will be an absolute disaster, the proposed R-Cut is being proposed to benefit the Granite company, not the residents.
Powhatan is not ready at this time for this development.

Where did he say this? My husband and I have been to EVERY meeting regarding Ellis Farm. NOT ONE person has spoken in favor of it. I call B.S. Mr. Tucker needs to tell us who these callers are. Do they even live within the county? What would be any sane persons reasoning for wanting this?

Just say no to this like the people in the county want. I dont really see how some can even vote on this since they didnt even want to try to go for a new term and that's because they have not been doing what the people that elected do be their voice

Too much traffic and too many people. Powhatan infrastructure does not and will not accommodate this. Keep Powhatan rural

No! Please consider your current residents. Traffic on Route 60 has already changed drastically in the last 20 years. We moved from Chesterfield in the 90's due to traffic and overcrowded schools. It is already much more crowded than a few years ago and most residents I have spoken with are not in favor if this.

Keep Powhatan Rural...build/maitain infrastructure FIRST!! Think water, sewer treatment and management, cable/internet, professional fire/rescue...get those things in place FIRST. Slow the high density growth...people come here for the rural nature...let's strive to keep that!

I grew up in Richmond city and have worked in short pump and Chesterfield. I love rural Powhatan and the small town feel and want my kids to grow up in that atmosphere. I avoid driving into the city and the west end and Hull Street area, whenever possible, because of the amount of traffic due to overcrowding. Businesses in short pump are shutting down, because many now avoid the area and there is too much competition to close together. People are leaving Chesterfield, because of the overcrowding of the area and schools and yet they continue to build. Let's not become a short pump or Hull Street/Chesterfield. Let's keep our small town feel and not put ourselves through the uneeded headache.
